Bike Rentals in Anna Maria

Renting a Bike on Anna Maria Island...

Bicycling_on_anna_maria_islandRenting a bike on Anna Maria Island is a wonderful way to enjoy the many sites the Island has to offer.

Cycling Friendly Anna Maria Island

Exploring our paradise island is one of the Anna Maria Island vacationers favorite things to do.  The Island has wide bike paths and low speed limits making it very bike riendly.

Also, there are times of the year when there are very few cars on the road, making cycling Anna Maria just that much more relaxed and enjoyable.

Most Anna Maria Island restaurants, stores and businesses have bike racks outside them making it easy to find parking for your bike.

Bicycling Anna Maria

One can start from the north end of Anna Maria Island, at Bean Point, and bike south.  Your first stop could be the Rod and Reel pier.  Then follow the North shore and visit the Anna Maria Island state park.  Go for a swim and enjoy the sites around the Skyway Bridge, then cycle two blocks further on North shore drive to Anna Maria City Pier.

Anna_maria_old_city_jailAfter watching some of the locals and tourists fish from the pier, go ahead and bike down Pine street and stop in at the Anna Maria Historical society and learn some of the history of Anna Maria Island.

Be sure to bring your camera so you can get pictures of the old city Jail, shown here on the right.

There you have some recommended biking spots in and around the city of Anna Maria, I will carry on a bike tour through Holmes beach on another blog entry.

So rent a bike in Anna Maria. Get out and see the beauty of our beach paradise the way nature intended you to.
