When we rent bikes to our guests in Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island, they are always thrilled with the experience of riding our beach cruiser bikes.

All our beach cruiser bike rentals are 1 speed bikes with the brakes on the pedals, not the handle bars. I often laugh and have to explain to visitors that the Island is totally flat and very easy to ride. 

Our guests are excited to ride a bicycle again and experience our Islands the way they were intended to be experienced... by cruiser bike.  As you can imagine many people do not bike ride anymore since many of the guests to Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key and Siesta Key are from the big city.  

They always ask if the bikes are safe. Of course they are safe... lol. Then we get to hear the stories of crime from the city they are from. That is, everywhere from Cincinnati, to London.

All the seats on our bike rentals are large and comfy for those of us that need a little extra padding.   As they cycle up and down Gulf drive they can get to see so many more things at 5 miles per hour. The beautiful plants, interesting homes, wild life and more.

The pace of a beach cruiser is much like the pace of the Anna Maria Island area lifestyle... laid back and care free!

There is never really a hurry or worry here.  Guests must remember that, when on vacation it is time to relax and enjoy and experience.

One recommended bike trip is first thing in the morning go to the Manatee Public Beach for all you can eat sausage and pancakes.  One tip to remember is not to leave your plate unattended or a bird may snatch your breaky.

For the European readers we also ‘hire bikes out’.  We had to get used to the request – it just wasn’t a term that we use here.

Renting, or hiring, a bicycle (beach cruiser) is definitely one of the enjoyments of being on vacation and enjoying that oh so rare, Old Florida Look and Feel you'll find only in places like Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.
